Now that a week has gone by I just felt I had to write to you about our fixture. I know that I spoke with you on Friday night but wanted to put my positive thoughts in an e mail. As always Home and Away were played in the very best tradition and spirit of the fixture which I first played in 31 years ago. Your Captains speech in our Club on Friday night was quite superb displaying great knowledge of the Match , it’s importance to both Teams and of course great humour. Little was made by your guys over the many difficulties you experienced in getting to Guernsey and of the number of your players having to use strange Clubs. The Virgin speeches were well delivered, funny and received in fine fashion by all at the Dinner. It was also good to know that so many of you stayed on in our Island to celebrate Margaret’s birthday in a wonderful way.
Thank you for ensuring the fixture that we love so much will continue for many years to come so others may enjoy the pleasures we have been lucky enough to be a part of over time.
