Lob The Ball
The lob shot consists of sending the ball high in the air and stopping it quickly.
To hit the shot widen your stance and choke down on the club for control. Align your shoulders, knees and hips left of target while keeping your clubface aimed at the flag. This will add loft to your clubface to float the ball high. By choking down on the ball you will catch the ball on the upswing - ideal for hitting it high. Try and keep the clubface as open as possible at impact.
There is no need for a long backswing as lob shots are played close to the green. With a short take-back you can accelerate safely through the ball to avoid thinning or duffing shots.
Keep the follow-through the same length as the backswing which encourages a smooth rhythm and helps you to accelerate.
