Plans including a memorial garden, an idea conceived by Mark and Carol Langford assisted by Vice Captain Phil Ackers and funding by the Club and a kind donation from John Harris were put in place for the arrival of our friends from Guernsey, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the golfing fixture. It’s a testament to the fixture that it has stood such a test of time. The weekend consists of a game on Friday with the Ladies and then a 2 day fixture with the men. This year saw the arrival of 6 golfers from the 14 visiting for the first time, not that you would have known that, immediately interfacing with all our members. The Ladies managed to win the first day getting the weekend off to a great start, a momentum that the men maintained with a most impressive 7 to 0 victory on day 2. The final day the result was 5 to 2 providing Ramsey with an impressive 12:2 Win. The whole weekend was full of friendship and banter that has become a trademark of the event. On Sunday evening a special RAM figure and Decanter were presented to Guernsey by Captain Paul Judge during the presentation dinner to provide a special keepsake for the Anniversary between the two clubs.
