With the season well under way I hope you are enjoying your golf and playing well.
Our Scratch team are enjoying a great start in their league matches, beating Saffron Walden at Ramsey, and a Fantastic win over a very strong St Neots team also at home. In the Goddard County knock out they just missed out on going through to the next round losing to St Ives. Sam Arthur was a Member in the Cambridgeshire team that won the Midland U18 League. He and his dad Karl got through to the 2nd round of the Ron Freeman County knock out. Sam also won his first round match in the County singles. Sharren Kjenstad had a good day at the Ladies Seniors Midlands Championships at the Bedfordshire GC
by finishing 7th in the Net and and 15th Gross out of 61 player field .
Caroline Clarey played in the Ladies County Championships at Safron Walden and in her first round she finished a very respectable 6th out of 27 entrants . After being cut point 4 she played in the afternoon losing on the 16th hole against Laura Todd.
In the women’s Daily Mail Foursomes 3rd round Sharren Kjenstad and Carol Harris had a great win on the 18th at Ramsey against a pair from Thorney lakes
In the men’s Daily Mail Foursomes 3rd round Dan Brand and Vinny Woodward lost 3&2 at Luffenham Heath . Dan said they had a good day and came up against a pair that played very well.
In the Guernsey home match on Friday 10th. 18 ladies played the Gentlemen of Royal Guernsey beating them 7.2. Over the weekend the men ended up winning their match against the Gentlemen of Royal Guernsey 12.5 to 5.5 .
A great 3 days played in lovely weather .
In the Derek Burridge on Saturday Ramsey lost in a very tight match at March GC that went to the last Putt.
The Jock Stewart Knock out at Saffron Walden Ramsey Lost 2&1.
I would like to congratulate Ian Hodgkin and Matty Young for wining the Winter league in their final against Steve Willis and Jason Woodward . Also congratulations to Mr Vice Derek Lines for his win in the final of the Cornthwaite Bowl against Dan Evans.
Vice Captain Derek and Myself are very much enjoying our Challenge games this year (unbeaten so far) there are still some places left and we would love to fit anyone in who would like to play ..
There will be sheets up in the men’s changing room for the rest of the men’s matches this season from tomorrow
