Good morning all, On behalf of Ladies Captain Lucy, Seniors Captain Adrian and myself thank you very much for your endorsement to be your Captains for the 2022 season, assisted by Vice Captains Phil, Bella and David we will do our very best to uphold all the great work carried out by our predecessors. In conjunction with the staff, we are fortunate to have great support from the team on the Golf Committee, Pro Shop, board of directors and a number of volunteers who give up so much of their time free of charge for our club. We will be trying to continue to keep you all updated and have a few topics lined up to share with you all early in the New Year but wanted to drop you a line to wish you all the very best for the festive season. Greens Report We have our first meeting with Richard on the 6th January and look forward to sharing with you some of the ideas that he already has in mind for next year. Once again congratulations to Richard on his appointment and a shout out to the team and volunteers for all their valued contributions. Tee Bookings It is the season of good will, as we all know at this time of year daylight is very limited for 18 holes of golf. To be fair to all members particularly at the weekend, tee times should ideally be filled with 4 balls where possible. If there are vacancies in your booked tee time, it is quite reasonable and fair for a Member to book onto that tee and we would hope their booking would be accepted in the friendly spirit of the Club. If you do expect to have 4 players in your booking, please ensure you put their names in the allotted slots. However, please remove them from the booking if there becomes a vacancy so the space can be used by a Member looking for a game. The BRS system allows the Club to make efficient use of available tee times, so your co-operation in this matter is appreciated. WHS As you have no doubt seen there is an initiative being driven by England Golf to get back to the traditional custom of members declaring their intent to enter a score before they commence their round, this is an automated system that can lead to penalty scores being added to your score history, we clearly are keen to try and help you all from receiving such penalties so will be sending you further information over the next couple of weeks and will of course do what we can to assist. Any questions please drop us a line handicaps.ramseygc@gmail.com or ladieshandicaps.ramseygc@gmail.com Competition Charges We are most grateful for all members that have helped us adopt the revised charging platform this is a great help in streamlining some of the administration and enables us to more readily automate competition entry. We are working on ways to try and provide a little more visibility and make payment easier for all. In the meantime we are reducing the overdraft limit to £7 which from our observations will not impact on too many of you but helps us keep any overdue balance to a minimum, please continue your sterling efforts in this regard. 2022 GOLF DIARY We are pleased to advise that the new diaries are now available from the Pro Shop, please make sure Stuart/Mitch make a note if you collect one so that we can make sure that all members can get hold of one. As previously mentioned these have the telephone numbers of members that approved their submission so makes a very valuable resource for contacting fellow members for example when arranging matches. Thanks to IPC Alan and Sharren and all involved in its creation. And finally ………. We would very much like to continue to make Ramsey a warm and welcoming Club to play Golf, Bowls, Snooker as well as all the activities that take place, so as Christmas rapidly approaches our final thanks go to all our great membership (Golf, Bowls, Snooker & Social) who have supported the club so well in 2021. We wish you all a very Happy Christmas and look forward to a much better 2022! Hoping you all stay safe. Kind regards Paul Judge – Captain RGC |
