|Sadly, as my tenure as Ramsey Captain nears an end, this will be my last members update.|
Over the last two years, we have tried hard to keep you all informed of news, events and information about the club. I hope these updates have proved useful and I would like to thank those members who have taken the time to write to me, expressing their views. Your feedback has been extremely valuable and has always been shared and reviewed with the golf committee.
Golf Club AGM – Monday November 1st
As detailed in our golf diary, the Golf Club AGM is scheduled for Monday 1st November. Further details will be circulated in the next few days but please take note of the date and attend if you are able to.
President’s Day/ Presentation Evening/ Hog Roast
We have a big day scheduled for this Saturday (23rd Oct) with the rescheduled Presidents Day competition. I know Mick Arthur is grateful for all the support and large entry for this, and I am sure it will be a great event. At the conclusion of the competition we are running a Hog Roast (tickets available from the Bar or the Starter) and then a Presentation Evening where all the winners of our “major” trophies are invited to officially receive these. Because of Covid restrictions, very few social events have been possible so please do come along and support this event and congratulate those members who have excelled this season!
Ramsey Ryder Cup – Saturday 30th October
Our annual Ryder Cup competition is fast approaching and there is still time to enter so please act quickly if you would like to be included in this “fun” event!
Halloween Howler – Sunday 31st October
Our ladies have organised a special 9 hole Mixed Scramble event to be help on Halloween. These are always great events so why not get your team organised and enter via How Did I Do?
Maintenance week in September was a great success with a focus on dressing the greens. I hope you share my view that our greens are in great shape as a result and I would like to thank Neil and his team for all their hard work throughout a very busy season.
I am very keen to get our course volunteering programme up and running again as Winter approaches. There are lots of jobs we can crack on with to assist our greens staff.
Would those interested in joining me on a Monday morning (10.00am to 12.30pm) please contact me by text or email: 07802 892693 firstname.lastname@example.org
I will then update our Whats App Volunteer Group and keep all interested parties fully informed!
Captain’s Charity – A Big Thank You!
I am delighted to announce that, thanks to the terrific support given to me by members this year, we have managed to raise £2,853 to date, for Prostate Cancer UK. With two weeks left of my Captaincy, I am hoping to reach the £3000 mark which would be brilliant! This is a wonderful figure, so thank you all for your help!
And finally ……….May I say what a pleasure it has been to act as your club captain over the last two years. It has given me the opportunity to meet and get to know so many of our membership and make so many new friends. It has truly been an honour and privilege to fulfill this role.
