Tomorrow, until May 17th at the earliest, we are able to re-open the restaurant and bar for outdoor service only whereby, under the rules, customers have to place their orders and consume them whilst sitting outside, eg, on or around the decking area.
Until May 17th my expectation is that weekends will continue to be busy so the plan is to definitely open the bar and restaurant Friday to Sunday inclusive each week but the dilemma is what to do Monday to Thursday. There is no benefit to the club to open on days when the cost of opening exceeds the revenue generated so my plan is to leave the restaurant shut during the week (Monday to Thursday) but to open the bar on certain days when the weather is forecast to be warm enough to sit outside and the numbers on the course look favourable. This may also vary if I am made aware that there is going to be particular demand on certain days so please let me know.
From May 17th customers will be able to venture into the clubhouse thereby largely reducing the staffing needed for an outdoor service so my plan, currently, is to extend opening times but probably not to every day.
To improve the ordering process from the deck to the bar/restaurant and reduce the need to have staffing stationed down at the deck, particularly during the week, we are going to trial ordering by phone. Under this process I would ask members to find themselves a seat down at the deck area and ring 07970 425315 to place their order which will then be walked down to where they are sitting – if the call is not answered please wait a couple of minutes and try again rather then leaving a message. Details of the order process and phone number to use will be on each bench on the deck,
For Monday and Tuesday this week I will be in just to gauge demand but Wednesday and Thursday are a struggle given other commitments but this may change in which case another update will be issued later in the week.
