Firstly as reported in the Captain’s bulletin many thanks to all those that entered the first two rounds of the Ram last weekend. As committed we are actively working on trying to arrange as much competitive golf as is possible within the current Covid guidelines.
With this in mind as these are far from normal times and Tee’s are set at 10 minute intervals, this weekend members wishing to participate in the medal can do so in 4 balls, this is being done as a trial but if it proves too restrictive then play will revert to three ball max.
As hopefully many of you will recall prior the Lockdown we were starting to introduce more of the functionality of our computer system in an attempt to enhance some of the various management aspects of competitions and offer some of these benefits to members. Despite the restrictions we have been working with the System providers to try and continue with this process, we will of course keep you all updated, if anybody has any questions or indeed practical suggestions then please discuss these with a member of the committee.
For the weekends Medal and the Midweek Ram, members can
Sign In with Stuart/Mitch in the ProShop as before
or for the early adopters they can try the new feature of Sign In via HowDidiDo. (especially whilst we are unable to use the PSi terminals).
We are now also able to offer a system for members to pay credit into their Competition Charge account online. Any members with credit from Summer Knockouts will have their monies added to their accounts unless you advise Trevor Sparling to the contrary.
Initial details of these facilities are attached (Competitions and Charge Account), we will of course continue to refine what we can offer and update the user notes accordingly (again based on member feedback)
Please can these be returned to us, using your current preferred method, we are working hard to try and improve the options in this regard. We are sorry that the Android App hasn’t proved useable in comparison to the one for iPhone. The scores should be returned to email@example.com within 24 hours so that the competition can be closed and all players advised of the result and any change to their handicaps. Once again many thanks for the way that you embarked on this aspect last week.
For our new members and in fact all members, if you are keen to gain an active Competition status handicap, we will for now process any cards returned to the handicaps email address, please make sure it clearly states Players names, Tee used and the member who acted as marker, as previously stated this can be done from your individual card and ratified at the end of the round.
Thank you lastly for all of your ongoing support, it is much appreciated as we try to find ways to accommodate the restrictions imposed by the current conditions. We hope that you are able to make the most of our return to golf.
