Most of you will be aware that we normally have our Golf Club Annual General Meeting at the beginning of November. However, due to the unique circumstances created by Covid 19 and the most recent stringent rules regarding social gathering, it is currently impossible to conduct this within the confines of the clubhouse.
We have considered alternative options such as holding a virtual “Zoom” AGM but believe that this would present technical challenges, be poorly supported and, consequently, be ineffective. Under our club rules, we are not bound to have the meeting on a specific date and, therefore, believe that deferring the meeting until next year is the most sensible course of action, unless there are any urgent concerns members would like to voice before then.
The current members of the golf committee have already agreed to continue in their roles through 2021 and we will shortly circulate a copy of the accounts, which are currently being prepared.
I hope you agree that this is the sensible and safe way to proceed and I will let you know of a rescheduled date for the AGM once it is safe to hold one.
