Captain’s Day 2026 round up
Hello members,
Another fabulous weekend at RGC and on Saturday my family and I hosted the 2026 Captain's Day. Fabulous it was!
A huge field of players were lubricated, fed de-constructed cream teas and lubed again as they played 9 holes of singles stableford and then a back nine of gruesome greensomes. The latter led to more player interaction than usual and I hope, a bundle of laughs to drink to upon the return to the decking and Bar.
DJ Liam Pughsley entertained us with his decks and kept us going till 10pm.
My Nichola and extended family did a stellar job at the half way hut, to cater for the Players. If you find tattoos and stickers of me about your person today then I know you had fun! Thank you all who participated!
Sarah, Jerry and Team supplied a sumptious feast of hot wings/ koftas and I thank them immensely.
Bex, Suzi and Karagh put in a big shift behind the Bar and we all appreciate what they do! Thank you.
Comps Team Chris, Howard and Andy worked their usual magic to collate the results so I could announce the Winners. Thank you so much guys!
The main aim of the day is to provide a memorable event and together we achieved that and then some!
The generosity of people is always outstanding and although all the figures aren't sorted yet, we will have raised in excess of £1000 for the Captain's Charity- The British Heart Foundation.
