Captain’s update

Hello Members,
As we all bask in the glorious June sunshine, I thought I should mention a few of our Club successes!
Well done to Stuart and Mitch for hosting a well attended Pro’s Day; congratulations to Phil Rose with his 40 point winning score and all those that won prizes.
On Saturday 13th we hosted a large field for the St Ives Cup, with 41 St Ives players participating. As with the Ramsey Cup, we proved too strong and well done to Dan Evans with his 42 point win.
Last weekend, Saffron Walden GC hosted the County Championship. Several of our Scratch Players took on the challenge of representing themselves and Ramsey GC. Thank you all and congratulations to Paul Hodgkin in 6th place and Sam Arthur in 8th. Sam also had an ace on the 18th par three. Superb efforts all-round!
Yesterday Thursday 18th at 4.30am Past Captains Derek Lines and Bella Coates started the first of seven rounds of foursomes matches and finished the last at 8pm. The valiant Charity effort was to raise funds for the Arthur Rank Hospice at Home and should realise in excess of £2000. This Charity is close to both their hearts!
At the same time, Tom Rawson, Paul Fidler and Dom Tuteckyj were also playing a 100 hole singles challenge on behalf of Prostate Cancer. Their valiant efforts on a very warm day have raised in excess of £4K. Congratulations to all those that played, helped and donated.
Lastly, I saw another Junior Section roll up last evening, whilst out on our wonderful course supporting Derek and Bella. A thriving group of young people, some now Members and I have been receiving reports that they are ‘a credit to the Club ‘ with the politeness and course etiquette shown by them all. The future looks bright, so thanks must go to the Juniors themselves, along with Martin Hollands, Lucy Mills Cripps, Tyler Mason, Sarah and Mike Brooke for all the effort being given freely.
See you out there!
Kind regards,
Captain Rich
