Scratch Team – Goddard Cup Victory

Ramsey’s Scratch team achieved an amazing result last night in the County competition; The Goddard Cup.

A comprehensive 5-1 win over Saffron Walden GC at Ramsey left the opposition more than a little shell shocked.

The format of the competition is a mixture of single and pairs matches with the following results:

Foursomes:
Sam Arthur & Nathan Long L 2&1
Chad Miles & Ollie Wright W 3&2

Singles
Martin Hollands W 7&5
Paul Hodgkin W 6&5
Glenn Cripps W 2&1
Karl Arthur W 3&2

Some truly great golf all round by the Ramsey team. Sam & Nathan made a great fightback after being Dormy 4 showing great character, and were very unlucky not to take their match down to the 18th.
Glenn came back from 3 down to win, and Martin shot a gross 30 for the front 9 to be 7up at the turn…………….7 birdies in the first 11 holes!

It was good to see even more support for the team on the course last night, so thank you coming down to watch.
It all makes a difference.
