Win, Win, Win Weekend for Ramsey GC

It was a winning weekend for our Golf Club…….

Ramsey GC V Royal Guernsey GC
The home leg of our annual 3 days of golf competition; against our friendly rivals Royal Guernsey, resulted in victory for both the Ladies and the Gentlemen Teams.

On Friday, the Ladies were taken to the last hole of a close match against the Royal Guernsey Men. It was a dramatic put on the 18th which secured the Ladies a 7-6 win!

Over the next two days, is was the Ramsey Men’s Team who took the honours over the Guernsey visitors. Despite going 3-2 down on the Saturday, a truly spirited 4-1 fightback on the Sunday resulted in a Ramsey 6-4 victory!

This fixture was first played between the two Clubs in 1970, and recently celebrated its 50th occasion. It is such an important part of our annual golfing calendar, and we are most grateful to their Captain Graeme Falla and his Team for making the journey……and for leaving the Shield behind!

Next stop is Royal Guernsey in September………. to go through all the emotions again!

Ramsey GC V Meridian GC – County Greensomes League
Captain Nick Kay led his Ramsey Team to another win on Sunday, against Meridian GC.
A comprehensive victory winning 31/2 – 1/2 resulted in 7 points to 1 for their League.
Their next match is Newmarket Links GC at home on 11th June, and we wish them well.

Oundle Seniors Open
Ramsey GC were represented by Past Captain Roger Tacq and John Bryant on Thursday. Scoring 42pts they finished top of the field by 1pt. Well done on their win!

REMINDER
Ramsey GC Scratch Team are playing tomorrow evening (Tuesday) at 1730hrs against Girton GC.
It is a home match and any support would be very much appreciated by the Team. If you enjoy watching or playing golf, I guarantee you will enjoy walking round and following the 3 matches to see some great golf being played.
The match its usually all over in 2 hrs (foursomes format), so if can spare any time….please pop down to offer your support.
