Vice Captain Phil Ackers and I had an amazing day away at Newark yesterday (1st May).
At breakfast sitting with their Captain Howard Roberts there was a bright silver Trophy on the table in front of me and they had great delight in showing me all the entries of Newark engraved on its base, so much so that I wasn’t even aware there was a Trophy.
There were a couple of Ramsey entries, actually one was hidden on the side of the Trophy from 2021 where we had won last year – they apparently forgot the Trophy but in fairness had engraved our name onto it.
I believe we had not won away in the cup’s history – so no pressure then!
BUT with clever team selection with VC Phil and some on-buggy based course motivation, well presence at least, we amazingly came home with the Bright Silver Trophy and winning 6:2
What a simply great day and magical memory..
